The VTTA saw an amazing turnout today as 47 riders took to the road on the K48/10 in between Weston and Stone.
A set of temporary traffic lights at the start of the course meant that the race was delayed by 30 minutes but luckily there were no further setbacks.
A strong headwind and poor road surface made the outward leg incredibly tough going for many competitors and an undulating course meant new PBs seemed unlikely.
However, a number of quick times were still recorded with three riders achieving sub 22 minutes. Considering the conditions, John Lucock had an astonishing ride, stopping the clock at 21:19 and securing him first place - followed closely by David Kiernan at 21:37 and Aaron Ward at 21:55 taking 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Similarly, Susan Semple rode to victory as fastest woman attaining a time of 25:55. AeroCoach's Natasha Cutmore also displayed a strong performance on the course finishing with a time of 28:23.
Although, it wasn't a day for new PBs or course records it was still great to see so many riders taking part!
